The U8 is looking to build meaningful and mutually beneficial partnerships with a carefully selected group of external organisations to offer more opportunities to its members. Read on to find out what we have to offer as an organisation and what we are looking for in a potential Partner.


What can the U8 offer?

- Opportunity to connect with over 800 students from diverse backgrounds around the world, who share a common passion for international development. Many of our members go on to pursue careers in the sector upon graduation.

- The U8 runs a number of high profile events each year, including large speaker conferences which attract hundreds of attendees. Well-known examples include the Warwick, Cambridge and Oxford International Development Summits. We frequently offer our Partners the chance to participate in these events, through running a workshop, giving a speech or holding a stall, which provides them with an excellent platform on which to promote themselves.

- Over the coming months the U8 intends to set up a Careers section on the website, providing our members with information on what career paths there are in international development and how, when and where they can apply. We envisage our Partners playing a key role in the development of this.


What are we looking for?

The U8 is currently looking for Partners that can provide one or more of the following:

- Sponsorship or financial support

- Providing speakers for summits

- Professional guidance for member research projects

- Articles for the U8 magazine or website

- Workshops for U8 members, for example on careers in development

- New members to sit on our Board of Advisers
