Well then... Write an article for our globally circulated annual magazine!
Specifically written or abridged research projects are ideal. No writing experience needed, the U8 aim to give an accessible platform to your research. This is your chance to get your findings out to students and our partners across the World!
If you would like any of your research projects to be featured in the U8 magazine please send their summaries to

. Summaries should be one to two pages long, font size 11. The summary should entail an introduction to the research you are doing, some details on what you have found out so far and a good concluding paragraph or two. The following are the sub-themes we are proposing as guideline for writers, but we are open to any other ideas you may have, so do not feel limited by the sub- themes below:
A. Defining Global Partnerships B. Role of Technology in Global Partnerships C. Role of global partnerships in poverty and hunger alleviation C. Role of global partnerships in gender equality D. Role of global partnerships in health issues: Child mortality, maternal health, disease. E. Role of global partnerships in environmental sustainability F. What next? What will be the future of MDG/ building global partnerships?
This is a great opportunity to hone your writing skills as you will be writing for a magazine with a global circulation!

WIDS 2009 - Warwick International Development Summit |

The Warwick International Development Summit 2009 (WIDS) will take place on the weekend of the 20th-22nd November, with the overarching theme of "Development for the modern age: Crisis, Climate and Co-operation”. So far speakers from the IMF, World Bank, and United Nations have been confirmed. The U8 will also be holding a workshop during the Summit to be run by Mark Koller, who sits on the U8 Advisory Board. The United Nation’s mandated centre for Executive Education is holding a course on sustainable business in London on 1-2nd October. The two day course explores theory and best practice in leading sustainable organisations. The dynamic course offers insight from industry experts and covers core themes including: leadership, stakeholder engagement, cross-sector partnerships, branding and communications, sustainability frameworks, and social enterprise. Participants receive a certificate from the UN mandated UPEACE Centre. 5th World Youth Congress: Turkey 2010 31st July – 13th August 2010 The World Youth Congress series is the major, regular youth gathering that champions Youth-led Development and promotes the role of young people in global affairs. Open to all, it brings together young development activists, media people, entrepreneurs, artists and educators in a 10-day programme of seminars, skills workshops and cultural events. You will meet development professionals from government, the UN, development NGOs and research institutes and plan policies that promote a more effective role for youth in development.
